History
Following the suspension of operations by the Southern Oswego Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SOVAC) on February 13, 2017, Menter Ambulance stepped in to ensure continued ambulance service for the Central Square community. We are proud to serve much of southern Oswego County and the north side of Oneida Lake, including the fire districts of Central Square, Hastings, West Monroe, and Caughdenoy.
In early January 2017, the board of directors for Menter, formerly known as Southern Oswego Volunteer Ambulance Corps (SOVAC), announced a six-month contract with Menter to manage the business side of the ambulance service. This decision was made to address the need for business expertise within SOVAC while maintaining the high standard of emergency medical care provided by their skilled technicians and paramedics.
Menter Ambulance assures the community that operations remain consistent and seamless, with no changes in the level of service provided. We continue to operate out of the former SOVAC building in Central Square, leasing it for the time being with the intention of purchasing the site in the long term.
